Already One Year of Adventure !
Ah yes ! Already one year of amazing encounters for The French Makers ! It’s actually been two years but I spent the first one juggling between creating this blog all while having a tight TV schedule, with no idea about web development (thanks google), and finding the correct rhythm. And now it’s done !
So what’s new ???
First of all, it’s all thanks to you for following my account more and more! The first novelty of the year was translating the website to English ! Don’t forget to tell your cousin in America about it ! I also decided to create The French Makers l’Atelier, a company offering editorial content, video or podcasts to French companies. I continued reporting my meetings with the French savoir-faire ! Videos have also started to appear, and will continue to multiply in the coming weeks ! As for the rest, shhhh!!! I’m still keeping you nice surprises and some beautiful collaborations…
How did I celebrate my first anniversary ?
I wanted to organize something with the people around me on this. And I can really say that these three have put their heart into it! More than just a dinner, I wanted to create a memory together. So when I found out about the gourmet rally happening in Paris in collaboration with the magazine “Elle à table”, I grabbed the opportunity! Here is The French Makers of the 2017 Rally !
Aurélie
” What is the Hashtag for the event ?”
If by now you still didn’t get that Aurelie is the pro of communication and marketing, it is probably because you’ve been living under a rock. Well guess what? Me too! That’s why she came up to me one day saying “Noo but Jessica, I followed you on Linkedin 10 days ago and you just accepted my request! Isn’t that a problem???? You have to be more active on your networks!”
After that, she spent two hours explaining to me what I need to promote my work and my reporting on the French savoir-faire… And that was when I freaked out. But she was totally right! From that moment, she started making the business program… And when Aurélie puts something in mind, I think we can trust her !
Our things in common ? She’s very sharp in her job. And she’s also “very girly” like me. The beauty, the gastronomy, the good places, and the always impeccable nails! And of course the love of travel.
Alexis
Challenge 3 : “Do you see that florist over there? Well it’s actually a wine cellar! Cool, I thought it was a florist !”
Ca c’est tout Alexis! A la cool, toujours dans l’étonnement et
That is typically Alexis! Always cool, astonished and in good humor. He has spent his life traveling on islands for his job, and decided to land in Paris last year to take care of his little family and make his dream come true: to become a photographer. What do we have in common? The love of picture! He’s also a chameleon like me and loves encounters.
Maxime
“Give me the map if you want I can try to optimise our track !”
Put an engineer with creatives and this is what you get! I love this subtle mix. Max is good at everything that I hate: web development, strategy, quotes and bills! Even if he’s evolving far from my world, his opinion is the most precious because he knows me like no one else. In a word, he harnesses the energies and that’s what is good! A quiet power. Inside the family we call him “the cathedral” ! 🙂
In total we ended up with 14 challenges. These are our favorite moments. Starting with the jam tasting! Not easy to find the composition! By the way, did you see our Made in France t-shirts by our sponsor, Le Gaminet ?
We continue with the wine tasting. In France’s finest, we make no mistakes !
Over with the French wine because as soon as we cross the English Channel… What? English wine? Seriously?
Next stop Café Pouchkine rue des petits carreaux ! (Paris 2e)
The objective? Handling the icing bag to fill in the little pouchkinettes. When Aurelie began the challenge I understood what she meant by “No, but I can’t cook, I only prefer to taste !” She spills all her ganache. I didn’t know that was even possible but it doesn’t matter, it made us all laugh !
We end up eating everything. They were so delicious !
After the sweets, we go for a detox at Liife !
A place that sells juice and processed food in a healthy way. I forgot to mention that every shop came up with their challenge. And I can tell you that the managers at Liife have signed up for a treat !
To mix your fruits and vegetables, you have to pedal! No thinking, we send Maxime who was a high level cyclist. An overwhelming victory and some juice…
Nothing like a good brioche from Papa Boun to get us back on track! Very welcoming and the beautiful chocolate decoration thrills us. Another address we didn’t know before this rally! Obviously, we eat up everything! (Yes again!)
Recognizing seasonal fruits and vegetables, chocolate beans, beer making … The challenges are all connecting and we are still excited! We end the day at Baretto di Edgar, a pizzeria with turquoise decor like a Pinterest ! By far our most beautiful challenge !
Making your own pizza isn’t that the dream ?
My origins take over, the whole team sends me to the stove! And I must say that it was a success. The day ends with a good tasting. We’re delighted !
