My Surprise Break to Phytomer SPA in St Malo

A few months ago, I took a trip with my family for a getaway in Saint-Malo for a few days. I hadn’t been there before but the idea of taking a walk by the sea, renting a house as a change from my apartment and eating crêpes, made its way very quickly… Cherry on top! The day after we arrived, I discovered that the unique Spa Phytomer of France was just down the road. In case you didn’t know, Phytomer was the first brand (cocorico !!!) to convey the richness of the sea world to modern cosmetics. In short, the cream of the creams! I’m telling you I ab-so-lute-ly adored!

1 – The beauty of the place !

Walking by the sea to get to my appointment put me in the “zen” mood immediately. The spa is decorated in Breton style with a retouch of wood, granite, oak and marble. All together with modern solar panels, large glass windows and interior equipment. No need to add how promising this place looks ! Armchair, bathtub, private bathroom and garden view! Silence … when you have a hold on us !

2 – The product range !

A family business that has been developing its own capacities for 3 generations. Impressive isn’t it? For 40 years, research teams have been detecting the best performing marine active ingredients for skin care. Firmness, detox, scrub… Just everything we love! When I had to pick from the catalogue, I thought about choosing their special “citadine” which focuses on the effects of pollution… But thinking again, I stick to my premise: hydration first! For me that’s the key! I decide to test the facial « Hydra blue ».

3 – An exceptional care

And I weigh my words! After taking my products (and visited my cabin “suite”!) I was invited to lie down on a heated table. A hot mud was placed under my back; to detoxify, remineralize and highlight intracellular trafficking of my skin. Gwenaëlle, who was taking care of me, covers me with a thick quilt (thicker than the one on my bed!) and vaporizes a marine mist and relaxing serum while whispering in my ear…

« Take three deep breaths ! »

My body literally surrenders in this sweet cocoon and lets go for a good long hour. Then we begin the ritual followed by skin cleansing, clay scrubs, moisturizing masks… I also discovered the grid laying on the face for better circulation and a higher level of relaxation. I admit, I fall asleep for a few minutes and I woke up immediately to not miss a moment of this experience! My face was transformed. Phytomer magic !
